The sun hung high behind the thick, black clouds of a brewing rainstorm in the sky. The air of winter was about, even if it was mid-spring, leaving the lands cold.
Planted in a small, tiny little plain of grass at the edge of a forest nearby the capitol of the nation of Edious was a tent, set up for the next day or so for the rainstorm. The tent was again a rather small one, even for one made for two. It seemed that it was bought from a trader with whatever gold the owner could scratch up off the ground, really.
Inside the tent contained a petite figure of a girl with long, brown locks of curly hair. The girl was dressed in a majestic, sapphire blue outfit that looked (and indeed WAS) intended for a man around her age. The girl looked positively bored, sitting in a corner with her legs pressed against her chest.
Another figure was in this tent. A slender, pale boy with whitening hair that used to be blonde dressed in similar attire to the girl in the corner, albeit in an only marginally brighter shade of white as his hair. He, unlike his compatriot, was entertaining himself with a book.
There were at least two more people who would normally be in this tent...

...Which would be found, at this moment, outside.
The first figure was the tallest of the party, at a strapping nineteen hands. He was slender, albeit top-heavy... though one could almost attribute that to an illusion from his bulky armor. Like the previous boy, he was pale, with the lightest of hair, and gray-blue eyes that misted over at the pupils at times. His ears achieved a soft point at the farthest end- showing off whatever elvish blood he had. He was currently setting up a fire, a large basket of meats from the morning resting against a stump.
The other... boy, let's say- he wasn't quite old enough to be called a man like the previous, but older that the first- wasn't nearly as tall. In fact, it was a very good possibility he was the shortest in the party, at 16 hands. He was also the smallest, the softest looking- sickly and thin. He had a short shock of messy brown hair, falling this way and that, and shining brown eyes. He wore much simpler clothes can his companion- a white shirt, arms rolled up, a blue vest, with matching short pants and a brown leather sash hanging over his shoulder, where a large sword rested.
Yes, even while casual, he carried his sword.
And it WAS casual- he was currently gathering up some firewood, bouncing around relatively chipperly. It seems rather unusual for a boy of his health to have such boundless energy, but such is the way of the world.

"This is boring." The girl would whine, in that mezzo-soprano voice of her's. She shifted in her spot. "We need to do something."
The first white haired boy, only younger than the girl by twenty or so minutes, sighed, taking his blue eyes off the book. "Well, personally, Terra," Said the boy in a curt tone, his voice soft and a tad high compared to his father's, "I'd like to go home, but you're out skirtchasing..."
"...Shut up, Cecil." The boy's older twin replied flatly.

The men outside, however, once the fire was up and crackling, and some meat was laid out cooking on a spit above, sat down next to eachother.
"...It's really awkward." The shorter commenting with a small laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. He had a spunky voice, relatively tenor-esc. "I mean, maybe I'm just used to being around just you, Lunath, but I'll admit it's... strange to be pined after so often by this girl. By anyone, really, but leastwise a princess! Not to mention the genderswapping incident.
Lunath wouldn't mention all that he was wanting to say, only heaving a small chuckle under his breath that sounded more like a sigh.
"Agreed, Marc," he replied, bit voice sounding almost like a whisper. It was low, calm, soothing. Once again, a tenor- but with much more vocal depth and timbre than his counterpart. "But I fear there's not too much anymore we could do. We don't want to lose rights to pass through their kingdom, after all."

"In fac-" The boy stopped suddenly, sniffing the air before quickly dropping his book and hastily moving outside, leaving Terra confused in his wake. He scrambled to the cooking meat, seeing it above the fire. He yanked the spit the meat was dangling on away from the flames and threw his coat to the ground, laying the meat on the coat and quickly tending to it.
"You're cooking this wrong." He said in a slight monotone as he focused on the meat, trying to pull off as much fat as he could with his bare hands. "Can I borrow one of your blades, please? It'll make this go faster."

"...Sure, kid!" Marc said happily, pulling his out (away from the group) and passing it to him.
Lunath, on the other hand, was a bit confused, but nonetheless intrigued.

"Thanks." The boy said in reply, grabbing the sword and using it to cut off fat and numerous bits of fur and scales the other two managed to miss before slicing the meats into numerous strips before putting it back on the pike.
Terra, curious and confused, pulled herself out of the tent to look around, her eyes stopping on her brother. "...What are you doing?" She asked him.
"Cooking."

"...You used to sneak into the kitchens, didn't you Cecil?" Marc teased.

"In between making sure Terra didn't do something stupid and lessons from my mother and grandmother, yes..." The boy yawned in response.

Soon, their dinner was finally finished.
"...This is pretty damn good, actually!" Marc praised.

The other brunette cautiously took a bite of her brother's cooking, remembering who thought them both to cook. "...He's right, Cecil!" She agreed with cheer.
...The white haired boy was rather shocked at his sister's praise, as well as Marc's, looking taken aback as he shirked back a bit from where he sat. "S-seriously?"

Lunath gave a subtle nod.
"They're right. 'S good, Cecil."

He continued to be taken aback, almost falling off the log he was sitting on.
"Who are you people." He said flatly and in an almost whisper.

Cecil took a bite of his dish at the insistence of the others.
...He looked rather happy that he didn't take after his grandmother's inability to cook.

Which of course made the rest of the group happy.
And fat for the night.

Cecil, watching his sister drag Marc away and seeing Lunath chase after the two brunettes, sighed as he began cleaning up after the rest of the quartet.
"I'm turning you into the Marc I love!" The girl sang as she dragged the boy around, before giving him a kiss and a slight nibble on the neck.

"Mmnah!" the boy complained... as Lunath came up and did the same, switching him back.
...This was a nightly occurrence.

...The girl did the same, returning the boy into a girl
"...Lunath, let me have her!!" She complained, pulling the other girl away from Lunath.
