A few moments passed before May loaded into the car with the half-asleep Evelyn in the back.
"...Can I ride in the front?" The black haired child asked. "Just this once?"

...Aaaaaaaaaand ended up colliding into a tree, shattering the front windshield and causing her daughters to be yanked forward.
And to make matters worse, the passenger airbag didn't deploy.
