Valley of Undeath

Name: Valley of Undeath
Genre: Action/Adventure, Mythology
Plot: For once, the Olympians were bested in something they never expected: the Underworld has been taken over by one of its more dangerous prisoners, the man Sisyphus, known for being charismatic enough to trap death, has bound and sealed many of the Cthonic deities in the Underworld, including Hades, thus stopping death in its tracks. Now no one can die and shades return to haunt and plague the living in the form of undead. Unfortunately for Sisyphus, he overlooked one particular figure: the goddess Persephone is still free and able to resist him and his undead horde. Granted she may need some help...

There will be a party, though I'm not sure of the limit yet. It can be composed of immortals, humans, demigods or even lesser deities/immortals. In the case of immortals and lesser deities/immortals they have to be from actual mythologies.

In the case of humans, you can choose for them to have the favor of a certain god, enabling them to have special powers associated with that god. However, there is always the possibility that for some reason or other this power may be taken back.

SKELETON:

Name: Persephone
Type: Goddess (Olympian)
Gender: Female
Age: Immortal, physically appears in her early twenties
Appearance: (she's not actually wearing the dresses though)
-black tank top, with a grey button up blouse over it. She's also wearing fingerless gloves.
-bootcut denim jeans and combat boots.
- Hair is held up in a braided bun, for practicality.

Favor-Granted Powers:
-Growth: Allows the user control over vegetation, from making flowers bloom to incapacitate the undead by having plants grow on them. The power that's easiest to master.
-Hellfire: Allows the user control over a special type of flame that is especially effective against the undead (though normal fire has never ceased to be effective).
-Soulfire: A sort of variant to hellfire, this ability is one of the more difficult ones to master. However, those who can learn to use it can use its power to purge the undeed utterly and retrieve the lost souls that escaped from the Underworld. May have limited use, dependent upon how skilled one is with this power as they're drawing from their soul.
-Seasonal Shift: The most difficult power to master. It allows users to temporarily shift between seasons in a certain area in order to weaken enemies.
-Shadowwalk: A power Persephone gained in her ascension as queen of the Underworld, it allows the user to use shadows to walk unseen. Taken further, one can use the shadows and darkness to travel to another location.
Backstory: Queen of the Underworld only in name, Persephone's taken it upon herself to restore Death. It is a long, arduous task ahead of her but someone has to do it and she's not counting on her family to realize this until it's too late. She does not expect anyone to help her but neither will she turn it down.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: The undead won't be the only enemies we'll be facing but as they are Persephone's main concern they will be popping up a lot.

*AN ADDITIONAL NOTE: Demigods will be able to use the powers the favored mortals gain, though due to their divine heritage they may master them faster. And this is going a bit meta now but for those who are submitting demigods and favored profiles, please specify how well they do with each power they gain.

-Power of Rock: Music can be used to affect either the environment or the people around the blessed, both in positive and negative ways.
-Musical Assassin: In some way or another, instruments and music can be turned into a lethal weapon by the blessed.

-Storms: The user can create rough storms that become stronger depending on their proximity to the ocean.
-Quake: The user can cause earthquakes.
-Seaspeech: The user can communicate with creature's of the deep.
-Friend to All Equines: The user understands and gets along well with horses, no matter what manner of horse they are.
-Waterheal: The user recovers energy and strength when standing in water, especially salt water.
-Gills: The user can breathe underwater.
-Aquatic Phenomena: The user can induce such phenomena as Fata Morgana or St. Elmo's fire to confuse the enemy.

Also, our current battle bestiary includes:
1. UNDEAD
-Zombies: The cannon fodder of Sisyphus' army, these are the ones our heroes will run into most often. They gain something of a hive-mind intelligence in the presence of a Lich.
-Ghouls: Similar to zombies, only they have some minor magical ability and thus a bit more intelligent, enough to operate on their own.
-Vampires: Undead who possess the intelligence and memory of their original lives, they are a step up from the zombies and ghouls. They serve mainly as guerilla fighters and stealth agents.
-Draugr: The heavy muscle of Sisyphus' army, many of these still retain the berserker powers they once had and can be formidable opponents in battle.
-Liches: The "generals" of the army. Possessing both intelligence and magic they are a very formidable foe but are not without weakness. Destroying their reliquary will ensure they are gone forever.

2. MONSTERS- Alas, Echidna and her brood have been repurposed to serve as complementary forces along the Undead Host. It won't help our heroes that she breeds with the propensity of a rabbit.
3. TITANS- At some point, previewing a scene with Per changed it from "Zombie apocalypse" to "Zombie Titanomachy." They're finally free, and wanting revenge...ah but they seem to be taking their time with that for some reason...

Equipment: A bow and arrow, a hunting knife and a hunting rifle, well enough to kill bears.

-Hunter's Instincts: The user is an excellent tracker and on occasion, even seems to possess the Goddess' experience in hunting.
-Beastmaster: The user has a rapport with animals but particularly wild ones and can even call on them as allies.
-Marksman: The user's eye is keen, and never fails to hit their mark.
-Skinchanger: The user can either transform into an animal or take over the body of one, seeing the world through their perspective.
-Plague arrow: The user can infect a target with some sort of malaise. However, it only applies to females.
-Lunacy: Depending on the phases of the moon, it can bestow strange powers upon the user.
Backstory: Daphne was born on a farm to a wealthy man and woman. She grew up strong, helping them work in the fields and at home. By the time she was twelve, however, they realized that she was in fact rather pretty- and sent her, thus, to the local church to help work and get a good connection with God. Well she did, if not the god they were hoping, as the goddess Artemis blessed her gloriously.

A number of titans actually were in good standing with the Olympian Gods. Not ALL of them were as bad as Kronos the all consuming, Iapetus the impaler, Crius the batterer, Polos the unbreakable, or Hyperion the power(the six who bound and castrated the Heavens so that monsters would be released on the world from the belly of the Earth). Though I wouldn't turn my back on Hecate... who was intended as Persephone's governess(assigned by Demeter) and worked regularly against Hades using her witchcraft and necromancy... Hecate may have designs on Melinoe, using the child as her 'replacement'...

Name: Spinther
Type: Lesser, possibly Demi, God
Gender: Male
Age: Probably pretty darn old.
Appearance: Not all that pretty, but somewhat better off than his father.
Equipment: A blacksmiths hammers, sledge hammer, sawed off shotgun, magnum pistol
Blessing: of Hephaestus
-Forge Born: The user is immune to mortal levels of, and highly resistant to divine levels of, fire, flames, heat, radiation or similar, allowing them to work metals, stone, glass, or other materials despite the intensity of the heat needed to break down and mold such materials. The blessed is also gains a minor resistance to blunt blows, as well as increased muscletone and stamina.
-Shattering blows: The user can detect weaknesses in objects made of mortal materials(and possibly some divine materials that don't qualify as "unbreakable"), allowing them to shatter the objects with a single well placed and exceedingly powerful blow. For larger objects repeated blows can set up a resonance vibration that will cause it to shatter eventually.
-Enchanting: Objects constructed by the blessed can carry with them functionality beyond what the physical construction should allow. A spear may channel the power of a thunderbolt, or a sculpture may come to life.
-Differently abled: The blessed are in fact cursed by a deformity or injury, leaving them ugly, lame, or otherwise impaired. If they are of Heroic strength or higher this can be overcome but leaves it's "mark" on the blessed.

Backstory: Spinther is one of Hephaestus's lesser known sons. Born neither of Hephaestus wife Aphrodite, nor his once rape victim Athena(who successfully fought him off but apparently kept the child), at least not to the knowledge of any scholars nor possibly to Spinther himself. Either born mute, or suffering an injury to his neck at a young age, Spinther can not speak, and so his true origins remain a mystery. Recruited as a worker to aid in the imprisonment of the cthonic Moirae(the fates), who unlike the other Daimones such as the Keres and Erinyes whom Sisyphus has(somehow) turned to his side, have stayed loyal to Hades. The stern old crippled women spoke with Spinther, revealing how fate was to play, and caused him to flee and seek those who would return the world to it's more natural order.

-Necromancer: Despite the current situation, the dead acknowledge their true lord, and thus his Blessed carry his influence with them, no matter how small a part of it they have.
-Deathspeech: The user can communicate with the dead without requiring the usual measures needed to achieve that.
-Hellfire: A blessing shared with Persephone, the user gains power over an otherworldly flame that is especially potent against the undead and works differently than normal fire.

-Team Heart: The blessed can motivate and keep a group together, even in the worst of times.
-Acceptance: The blessed sees past the surface and accepts everyone as they are.
-Waterwield: The user has some influence over water, though not to the extent as one blessed by sea gods.

Backstory: Stanley grew up in a rather average household, surprisingly; the only child of an Indian-American falafel stand owner and a Pakistani-American IT engineer, born and raised in a lower-middle class neighborhood in the suburbs. Had a few friends here and there. While he wasn't the biggest or the strongest kid on the block, nor the most athletic in gym class, what Stanley had was a drive to learn, and that drive to learn was entirely dedicated to ancient Greek mythology. While his parents weren't nearly as enthusiastic about their sons' interest with 'fairy tales and hullabaloo', Stanley went far with his specialty, and upon being accepted to college in the city, made Mythological Studies his major.

Because that is totally a major, dammit.

In this unsurprisingly limited class, Stanley met Jennifer, a girl who was almost as enthusiastic about mythology as he was. They almost immediately hit it off, becoming fast friends, and eventually a couple, over the course of a year.

That is, until poor Jennifer died in a plane crash. Not only that, but her death was more or less one of the last ones. Ever. As in, death simply ceased to exist, and the human race became immortal. Bummer.

So, with all his oh-so-useful knowledge of Greek mythology and a sawed-off shotgun, Stanley plans on getting her back. If there's anything left of her.
