It was roughly five in the morning, a Saturday, with the two children of the Crosser family being home for the weekend and the following week for Easter.
...May was already up, and snuck into her mother's room. "Mama." she said lowly, shaking her mother's shoulder. "It's my birthday today."

April rolled over.
"I know, May. Go to sleep."

April rolled over. "I know, May. Go to sleep." The almost identical little girl climbed up into her mother's bed then. "Can I sleep with you?" She asked in her squeaky voice, her soft blue eyes as big as she could get them to be.

"If you be quiet, sure."

"Okay!" She squeaked, clinging to her mother under the blanket, using her as a pillow and a teddy bear.

And so April fell back asleep.

May followed suit shortly after, waking a few hours later and walking out with her mother, talking about her birthday like any child her age would. "...An' is Auntie Anna gonna come over again?" The girl asked, at the end of a long string of questions and comments.

"Uh, probably?" April was rather overwhelmed setting things up. It didn't help that her teenaged son was still asleep, of course.

May was continuing to ramble on and on, until she was told to go play in her room for now. And even then, she rambled on about her birthday.

Eventually the teenage boy would wake up... and be put to work immediately by his mother setting up everything.

"BIG BROTHER!" The little girl shouted from her room. "PLAY WITH ME?"

"Can't, May." He called back, yawning. "Setting things up down here..."

"AWWWWWWWWWWWW..." Was the reply, before May continued to find a way to entertain herself.

Soon, the party and everything was set up.

The four year old came running down the stairs then, tackling her older brother and looking at the bunny decorations. Which were en mass.

"Hey, hey, no!" April said, pulling her off her brother (who was currently playing a new game on a handheld system- his one actual birthday present). "Go upstairs and put on your party dress right now, little lady."

"But I hasn't seen big brother all day, Mommy..." She squeaked.

Soon, guests were arriving- all assorted amounts of kids from May's school.
