Putting a little note here to remind me to get back to this...
Solar flares scour the Earth and cause horrible mutations in that which is not killed outright by the radiation.
But humanity saw it coming, and though they were unable to escape the world, they could hide themselves from the worst of the effects in a deep sleep. Unfortunately, the world would need to be prepared before they could return to it...
Thus the Starriors were created to awaken first and pave the way for the return of human kind. But between the extended time they were given to rebuild the planet(fighting the mutants, planting the forests, draining the seas so that they ice caps could reform, etc) and the effects of the radiation on their computer banks, the Starriors have all but forgotten their mission. They have made a utopia(with just a hint of police state) of large parts of the world(and are still working on the rest), for themselves rather than man kind.
Yet some Starriors yearn for freedom and seek the truth of their origins...
Yes, based on the short lived 80s toyline.
Starriors are typically "giant robots". A Starrior is made up of a brain unit(a human held in stasis linked to a life support and control system... only the Starriors don't realize their brains are made of people!) which is held in the head unit (about the size of a small car) which can be mounted on the hard point of any further construction, and the rest of the body, which is modular and can be rearranged on an individual basis.
Most commonly the "rest of the body" consists of a torso(which a power plant), two legs, two arms, head mounted between and above the shoulders, and some kind of primary tool or weapon, typically mounted on the chest(directly linked to the power plant). An additional two limbs(wings) is possible and the torso would have additional hard points for secondary tools/weapons(two on the shoulder, one as a tail/belt, one on each wrist and ankle depending on how many limbs you have).
Alternate bodies, vehicular or otherwise nonhumanoid, are also possible. Starriors are variable.
Required before I can start this:
Personality templates(character profiles... how to do them...)
Body templates, including armor, limited power supply, and hard points.
Weapons rules(energy beams, force shields, pincher claws, etc).
May work on it later... may forget about it again...
